About Colby Smith (1971-2005)
Colby was a civil engineer and licensed pilot who owned a Freeport-based engineering firm. He married Jennifer Weik in 1995 and they had three children, Colby, Sedona and Chloe. Proud to be raising his family in Freeport, he was always active in
the community, being a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary
Club, the Aquin school board and Saint Mary's Church. Colby and Jennifer's children are proud Bulldogs and are the fourth generation of Smith students to attend Aquin Catholic Schools. The 2011 Colby Smith 4-Mile Memorial Classic was a great success with 139 participants who helped raise over $7,000 for the Colby Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Colby
J. Smith was a 1989 graduate of Aquin Catholic High School and he valued
the education he received while attending Aquin Catholic Schools. He
believed Aquin successfully prepared him for college and adulthood.
He also felt that the close-knit Aquin community gave more students
the opportunity to be involved in sports, clubs, and other extra-curricular
activities.
